Our client’s vision for their waterfront home was to create a modernized version of the 1930s cottage they recently purchased. The new design includes larger window openings for increased daylight throughout the house and an efficient, functional first-floor living space. The roof was raised to provide additional headroom for the second-floor bedroom, bath, and walk-out balcony. Also, a screen porch was added to the front to allow for an indoor/outdoor living experience. Our material palette may include a standing-seam metal roof, vertical fiber cement siding and black clad windows. All these elements work together to take advantage of the water’s views and set the tone for a fun-filled seasonal experience with family and friends.
