A former industrial building was converted into a flexible, light-filled studio and gallery. The 2,000-square-foot shell provided a blank canvas to thoughtfully design a space tailored to their evolving needs.
The intervention begins at the façade, where oversized windows introduce a more contemporary expression while flooding the interior with natural light. These expansive openings not only illuminate the workspace but also establish a visual connection to the street, inviting the surrounding community to engage with the art and activity within.
Inside, the material palette remains intentionally restrained and industrial in character. Polished concrete floors, crisp white walls and exposed structural elements create a neutral backdrop that allows artwork to take center stage. Overhead, skylights further enhance daylighting, while flexible track lighting provides precise control for exhibitions and events.
The open plan supports a range of uses, from focused studio work to public gallery showings, encouraging both creativity and interaction. The result is a dynamic, light-filled environment designed to inspire, create and share, while honoring the building’s industrial roots.
