The first phase of a comprehensive renovation of this mid-century residence focused on transforming three bathrooms into serene, spa-like retreats—while respecting and preserving the home’s original character.
This renovation established a strong foundation for future upgrades, including planned renovations to the living areas and outdoor spaces.
Recognizing the age of the home’s original infrastructure, we prioritized critical behind-the-scenes improvements. The radiant heating system’s manifolds and copper piping, which had developed leaks over time, were repaired to restore efficiency and ensure long-term functionality. Additionally, all galvanized plumbing—prone to internal rust and blockages—was replaced. These essential upgrades not only improved overall system performance but also safeguarded the integrity of the new finishes by minimizing the risk of future plumbing failures.
The design of these renovated spaces aimed to evoke a calm, spa-inspired atmosphere. Each bathroom features custom-made walnut cabinetry, a modern interpretation of the home’s original walnut casework. Fixtures and finishes from Wetstyle’s Bauhaus Collection were carefully selected for their Mid-Century aesthetic and durability. The color palettes across the three spaces introduce visual interest through vibrant yet muted tones inspired by mid-century design. This thoughtful use of color preserves a cohesive design language while creating moments of character and warmth. The result is a seamless blend of mid-century heritage and contemporary luxury, setting the tone for the home’s transformation.
